Walton Market Saved

Walton’s popular market was due to close permanently at the end of September 2007.  Town Councillors were determined to retain the market which was so important to the life of the town.  Rapid negotiations took place  and with goodwill from Town and Country Markets and Tendring District Council, an underlease of the market was transferred to the Town Council on 23 November.  The Town Council then negotiated short leases with Tendring District Council until April 2012 when a five year lease was agreed securing the Markets future.

The Town Council of Frinton & Walton operate Walton Market every Thursday throughout the year, and every Monday during the summer.

Allotments Update April 2014

The Town Council maintains three allotment sites.  All are productive, well maintained and sociable.

Unusually we now have a few spare allotments plots and shorter lists at all sites, so if you would like to be considered for a plot then just enquire at the Town Council Offices to see what is available.  Fresh vegetables and keeping fit at the same time!

Please telephone the Town Council Offices for further information (01255) 676666

Walton Market Update April 2014

In an effort to improve the Market the Town Council have employed a Market Development Officer to increase the number and variety of stalls.  A survey has been undertaken to find out the type of stalls people would like to see on the market site and what would encourage them to visit.

The Walton on the Naze Town Market currently operates every Thursday throughout the year and seasonally on Mondays during the summer.  The popular Market now has the added benefit of being held on selected Saturdays during the summer.  2014 sees the start of this Saturday  trial for Walton.  If we are all able to support this and make it the success it deserves we could see this extended.
