The Triangle Centre Post Office was due to close in May 2021. However, Frinton and Walton Town Council stepped in to take over the running of this valuable local service. A ground floor meeting room in the Council House building, at the Triangle Shopping Centre, was converted into a community Post Office. This opened on the 1st June 2021.

The Triangle Post Office offers a full range of post office services, such as the ‘Drop and Go’ facility for business and personal customers. Of note, is the comprehensive personal and business banking services, covering all the main banks. This is a particularly valuable service given the closure of many high street banks. The Triangle Post Office is open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on a Saturday.

Personal and business customers have been delighted with the new Post Office at the Triangle Centre. They have been particularly complimentary about the pleasant and professional service provided by the staff who are shown below.

Councillor Terry Allen opened the new Triangle Shopping Centre Post Office on 1st June 2021. Frinton and Walton Town Council decided to step in and run this post office when it was faced with closure. Local people were very dismayed with the prospect of losing this vital community amenity and several petitions were organised to garner support for keeping the Triangle Shopping Centre Post Office open. Over a 1000 people signed each of these petitions.

The new Post Office is located in the Town Council offices in the Triangle Shopping Centre and is open Monday to Saturday. The Town Council have converted a  downstairs meeting room in the Council House into a Post Office. The Town Council anticipate that the new Post Office will bring significant benefits such as the generation of income; preservation of a vital community asset used by many local people; helping to sustain the other shops in the Triangle Shopping Centre; retention of 3 part-time jobs and providing access to a local banking service.

The opening of the new The Triangle Shopping Centre Post Office is the culmination of a long application process that began a year ago. Councillor Terry Allen thanked the Town Council and Post Office staff who have worked so diligently to make the new Post Office a reality. He said, ‘the opening of the new Post Office is a fantastic boost for the local economy at the Triangle Shopping Centre and preserves an essential local service that is becoming even more important as high street banks close and people turn to the Post Office for traditional banking services.’

Take part in our broadband survey!

It’s time to have your say in the Essex County Council Broadband Survey, which gives you the chance to register your demand for faster broadband. By taking part, you’ll help Superfast Essex identify whether your address is eligible to be included in future state-funded broadband rollouts.

To date, the Superfast Essex programme has reached almost 140,000 homes and businesses across the county with superfast and ultrafast broadband connectivity – but we don’t want to stop there!

Infographic of survey

Now, more than ever, people are reliant on their internet connection to work from home, stay connected to loved ones virtually, and home school their children. But we know that some of you are still unable to access broadband speeds of at least 30Mbps. We’re hoping that, with the help of our survey, we’ll be able to reach more of you in future plans.

The broadband survey will take less than five minutes to complete and could better your chances of gaining access to improved broadband connectivity.

Please share the Essex County Council Broadband Survey with friends, family and colleagues – the more people who have their say, the more informed we’ll be of homes and businesses across Essex that need access to better broadband!
